Andy and Opie.....I am in love!!! :)

So we visited the Junaluska Farms outside of Andrews, NC this week and I fell hard for these 2 cuties named Andy and Opie.....Guys I am talking SERIOUS cute factor here!!! How can you NOT love these babies? Only 12 weeks old! (BTW Opie might be renamed Barney any day now...I am kinda  partial to Opie though!)
Such a sweet lady!! She gave us an amazing tour!! They are not open as of right now but will be in the future so call or visit!
Andy is a hambone!! haha!! He kept eating Deans shirt!

On Saturday we went to the L&N Depot in Murphy, NC for the farmers market that is only open to people that either grow or produce the products there...very nice! Candy Mountain had some amazing produce - we stocked up on Kale/cucumber/potatoes!
Such a great venue!
Did we need  tomatoes? Definitely NOT but these beauties were just too nice to pass up! Dean has been popping them like candy! And his homemade spaghetti sauce the next day was amazing as well.
The flowers were just beautiful!
We went back to the Mountain Folk Center (Murphy,NC) for a few things we were missing!
7M Family Farms had an amazing table full of produce - I lost my mind  over the strawberries - Plant City ain't got nothing on these babies!! All grown hydroponically right by here in Blairsville - gonna have to go visit her farm to check it out! Peaches were awesome as well - I have been living on  smoothies!! haha!

Very nice to visit 2 different farmers markets today - definitely got exactly what we wanted - plus some!!

Until next time, keepin it real on the road!

Lovely old town..great music, local grass fed beef and pastured raised chickens. Little rainy so not their normal turn out but we enjoyed ourselves immensely!!

Pastured chickens! Yes!!

This guy was great! We were singing along!!

Kim having a good time on the town square..

Cool old building..and cool babe too!! ha-ha!

Also, got some eggs right out of the coop at Persimmon Creek Farms this afternoon but no pix for ya! Sorry! Can't wait for breakfast tomorrow! Doesn't get any fresher than that!

Til next time, keeping it real on the road.

And so the Adventure begins!

And so the adventures begin!!
Mountain Folk Center Farmer's Market-Murphy,NC
Happy Spurling at Legacy Farms is our first stop on our quest to find organic (or as close as you can get them!) fruits and veggies while traveling our great country! We loaded up with free range eggs, cucumber, green  beans, heirloom tomatoes, baby kale, corn, blueberries and some great lemonade too! Such a sweet lady. She and her 7 kids work the farm and grow all of the produce and they have 30 chickens! She is not organic certified but is as close as you can get without a certification and in our book if it is grown with love and care and no pesticides/non GMO it is better than the grocery store! You can reach her at happybread9@gmail.com or call 828-494-3801. And yes her name is Happy and she said she is...most of the time!! LOL!
Dean could hardly carry the haul!!

Next stop was Michelle at A&M Wildcrafting (phone 404-438-8581) who grows her own herbs and tea. I bought the Mint tea bags(peppermint/spearmint/Rose hips/Lemon Zest) for help with digestion as well as the Lemongrass tea bags (lemon/lemongrass/peppermint/rose hips). She had some samples which were great!

Very happy with our first stop on the adventure! Til next time, keepin' it real on the road!
